Week 9

Applying Colour schemes

I got the image of the cup from 'The Magpie's Treasure' by Kate Slater, she uses collage for her illustrations so the colours are bold and easily distinguished which makes them easier to practise colour schemes with. I think the pink and purple provide an interesting alternative but might make the object hard to identify.

This was another image from 'The Magpie's Treasure' I think this colour scheme is less dramatic than the original but I like the combination of pinks and black next to each other.

This image was taken from 'The Art of Howl's Moving Castle' by Hayao Miyazaki.
Where I had been focusing more on flat colour and pattern with Kate Slater's imagery I applied the colours to a more realistic image of a house. This created quite a surreal image which needs the original to be understood. Meaning that this colour scheme might not be applicable when representing real life objects.
